Pictures of the week - June 24th, 2013

June 24th, 2013

These are my favorite photos of the past week:

This was the view from a place where we ate lunch. This past week Hannah and I explored many new lunch places and almost every place was cheap with a relaxing environment. Not always was the food the best, but at least now we know. I also learned about Dutch coffee at this cafe...apparently they use this apparatus that looks exactly like a large hourglass. The top part of the hourglass holds the room-temperature water which slowly drips into the middle contraption that holds the coffee. The water hangs out with the coffee and, at a tremendously slow rate, filters into the bottom beaker. This process is said to take a day and the cafe is said to have a bottle that will keep the coffee fresh for one month...I tried the coffee and I will say it was not bad.

Here is Cargo doin his cat thing. I seem to notice everyday he picks up another habit that full grown cats do such as walking on the top part of the sofa, leaping with no fear off of tall objects, pouncing at anything that moves, swatting at something hanging above his head, using his kitty litter box completely...where does he get it from?... do you think I can fit in between those bars and the window?

On your right side, we are cooking some fish prepared with a gingery batter, spring onions and dill. On the bottom left is a dish called Bun Nem Tom. I have not included the accents yet. It consists of rolls that have a bit of meat, shrimp and other assorted foods that you dip in the center bowl filled with Nouc Mam (fish sauce..also accents omitted), fresh cold noodles on the right, leaves with different tastes and sprouts. On the top left is a row of squared tofu and fried pork slices that you dip in a sauce called Xi Muoi. That is a sweet and spicy sauce that Hannah and I drool over. Yes!

Music (ongoing Post)

Music

Lately I have been listening almost religiously to the La Belle Mixtapes... all you have to do is google search La Belle, go to the videos and check out any of the Mixtapes they have...

April 9th 2015
Two things I'm excited about with music:

1. I've been listening to this collection of 'traditional japanese music' you can just google search it... It's like a soundtrack to my life, though that sounds corny.

2. The name of the music at the vegetarian restaurant 'organik' is called chú đại bi ... Um ma ni   ...  Tiếng phạn

That's all I have for now
